Reform and expansion of the Rascafría City Council

The main facade that adjoins the square has an urban character, in contrast with the back image, a little bit neglected and rural, over the Artiñuelo stream that runs behind it. The area that is needed to include the entire program is greater than that available, so it was decided to expand the building by one more floor, just below the existing ones, taking advantage of the unevenness between the square and the river bank. The exterior image of the building, it hardly varies in its formal appearance. The new floor is presented to the outside as the plinth of the building, where the gap opening respects the composition and rhythm of the existing ones.
