First prize in the national competition organised by Xove Town Council for the construction of the new municipal civic centre. This will host sports and cultural facilities and the headquarters of the new town council. An indoor swimming pool, a gymnasium, a multi-sports court with its respective dressing rooms, an assembly hall, a library and the town hall are built. These parts are arranged in such a way as to create a square. The compositional resource is based on the formal simplicity of the buildings, together with the sobriety of the materials used: exposed concrete, blocks and glass with red lacquered aluminium frames. Thirty years later, a little over a million blocks are looking down on us.
